No. Sovelle was specifically formulated to absorb without the heavy, sticky residue common with traditional pore pads.

The goal is simple: exfoliate your skin without making your face feel like it’s covered in leftover product. After using the textured side and then the smooth side, gently pat the remaining essence into your skin and allow it to absorb before continuing your routine.

The formula also contains lightweight humectants and skin-conditioning ingredients such as glycerin, betaine, trehalose, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, and methylpropanediol rather than being built around exfoliating acids alone.

No! You shouldn't have to assume that a major breakout means the product is “working.”

Sovelle is designed to target the things that can make acne-prone skin look congested in the first place: dead surface buildup, clogged-looking pores, excess oil, blackheads and whiteheads.

Salicylic acid, betaine salicylate and willow bark make up the pore-focused side of the formula, while lactic acid targets rough surface buildup.


That said, everybody's skin is different. Introduce the pads gradually instead of immediately combining them with every strong active in your routine. It does not happen for 95% of people who use our pads though.

These provide the hydrating, calming and balancing side of the formula rather than leaving acids to do all the work. Your product overview specifically positions this combination as “exfoliate + balance.”

But Sovelle is still an exfoliating product. If you're very sensitive, patch test first and start around 2–3 times per week rather than jumping straight into daily use.

Sovelle pairs its exfoliating system with multiple moisture-supporting ingredients, including panthenol, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, betaine, trehalose and allantoin. Our product is known specifically as one of the best on the supporting side of the exfoliation, intended to leave skin feeling softer, refreshed and balanced rather than simply stripped.  

The biggest mistake is assuming stronger or more frequent exfoliation automatically means faster results.

Start slowly and increase only if your skin is comfortable.

Be careful about stacking strong actives.

Sovelle already contains AHA + BHA exfoliating ingredients, so layering it in the same routine with other strong exfoliating acids or retinoids can increase your chance of irritation.

Your product research specifically warns against aggressively combining the exfoliating system with other strong AHA/BHA products or retinoids and recommends sunscreen because exfoliation can increase sun sensitivity.

A simple rule: 
More actives ≠ better skin.

They have two different sides for two different jobs.

Embossed side: use a gentle swipe to help lift surface buildup and exfoliate.

Smooth side: flip the pad over and lightly sweep again to soften and prep the skin.

Then gently pat in what's left.

—not scrub your face as hard as possible. The two-sided application process is part of the actual product mechanism.

The acids and the pad should do the work—not pressure from your hand.

Use a gentle swipe, especially around areas where you see congestion or rough texture. Pressing harder doesn't make lactic acid or salicylic acid work better; it simply adds more mechanical friction.
